The Biotechnology Centre at the TU Dresden (BIOTEC) is an interdisciplinary center focussing on research and teaching in molecular bioengineering. We are looking for candidates for
2 Junior Research Group Leaderships
Payment is according to the nationally agreed scale up to E 15 TV-L.
Applicants are expected to have an outstanding international scientific track record in one or several of the fields of research and teaching at the Biotechnology Centre: in bioinformatics, biophysics, cellular machines, development, genetics, genomics, proteomics, and tissue engineering. Applicants should posses a PhD. Successful applicants will be invited to apply, together with the BIOTEC, for junior groupleader funding, e.g. from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Emmy Noether program) or the European Union (ERC starting investigator program). If successful, funding for the Junior Research Group would typically run for 5 years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The new research groups will be housed in a state-of-the-art building equipped with excellent core facilities. The building is located on the Biotechnology Campus, situated in the beautiful valley of the river Elbe, and next to the DFG Research Center and Cluster of Excellence - CRTD, the Max-Planck-Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, the TU Dresden Faculty of Medicine Carl Gustav Carus, and the Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering.
